The ‘Expired Politician’ Remark Causes Secondus to Lose to Wike

Posted by

For referring to Prince Uche Secondus and Abiye Sekibo, two former ministers who supported Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, as “expired politicians,” former PDP national chairman Prince Uche Secondus has taken issue with Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Wike had previously slammed the PDP’s Rivers State leaders as “expired politicians” and “political buccaneer” during his meeting with media executives.

Several prominent figures in Rivers state, including former lawmakers Austin Opara and Celestine Omehia, as well as Sekibo, the party’s presidential campaign council director-general, Sen. Lee Maeba, and a previous governorship candidate, proclaimed their support for Fubara last week. They encouraged President Bola Tinubu to warn Wike.

Meanwhile, Secondus’s media adviser Ike Abonyi characterized Wike as “a showman noted for his double-speak, twisting of facts to score some cheap political points, and someone who stands the truth on its head.”
