Rerun of Ondo APC Primary Election Urged by CSOs

Posted by

Concerned citizens in Ondo State have rallied behind a coalition of civil society observer groups demanding that the recent APC governorship primary poll be rescheduled in light of allegations of widespread irregularities.

Team leader, Comrade Eleojo Emem, and team secretary, Oluwafemi Kayode, released a joint statement condemning the pre-election activities monitoring report that exposed major shortcomings in the process.

To restore the party’s honor and guarantee a level playing field for the 2024 gubernatorial race, they called for a rerun that was open, credible, and inclusive.

The watchdog organizations’ main proposals include calling for a new primary election and highlighting the importance of openness and diversity in the process. Claims of lack of clarity in some areas are, in their view, attempts to hide flaws in the original procedure.
