Disappointing, according to the AYCF president-general Yerima Shettima, is the sight of some trying to plant the seeds of dissension among leaders for nefarious political benefit.

According to Shettima, corrupt politicians in the north are unhappy with the support and promotion that Bello Matawalle gives to President Bola Tinubu’s interests in the region, and they are constantly trying to put a wedge between Tinubu and Matawalle, the defense minister.
Noting that “Matawalle is targeted for his resilience against the recent rumours of instigation of the Military to undermine democracy,” Shettima denounced the group’s actions in his statement.
He emphasized that the Arewa group is resolute in its mission to protect the nation’s democratic principles and prevent deceptive tactics like these from impeding the democratic process.
