Ondo Speaker condemns attack on lawmaker

Chief Olamide Oladiji, Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, denounced the attack on the vehicle of Mr Chris Ayebusiwa, a politician representing Okitipupa Constituency I.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ayebusiwa said on Saturday that his GAC official car had been attacked by hoodlums on Oba Adesida Road in Akure.

He stated that three of his employees, including the driver and security officer, were in the vehicle.
Oladiji, in a statement published on Sunday in Akure by the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Chief Olatunji Oshati, characterized the attack as savage.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the trend and urged people to avoid pointing fingers at any group.

The speaker urged law enforcement officials to investigate the incident and bring culprits to justice.
Oladiji, who sympathised with Ayebusiwa in the incident, regarded the attackers’ actions as uncalled for, stating that it had the potential to disrupt the state’s present calm. (NAN)
