the Nomination form costs N10 million, while the Expression of Interest form costs N40 million. There were sixteen male candidates that filled out the forms, but just one female candidate who filled out the interest form.
At least sixteen candidates had bought the forms, according to information received from the party’s Directorate of Organization as the sale of the forms ended on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
Among the candidates are the current governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; the sole female candidate, Funmilayo Mary Waheed Adekojo; the vice chairman of the APC in the south-west, Duerimini Isaacs Kekemeke; senators Jimoh Ibrahim Folorunsho and Olusoji Adewale Ehinlanwo; and Okunjimi Odimayo John.
Former Ondo State Commissioner for Finance Wale Akinterinwa, Akinfolarin Mayowa Samuel, Adewale Okumuyiwa Akinterinwa, Olusola Alexander Oke, SAN, Professor Adedayo Faduyile, and Retired Brigadier-General Felix Olamide Ohunyeye are among the others.
As a result, on April 20, 2024, Governor Aiyedatiwa will compete in the ruling party’s direct primary election for the office of governor against fifteen other hopefuls.
