While praising Nigeria’s healthcare system for its recent achievements, Mrs. Tinubu acknowledged that ensuring that all citizens have equal access to high-quality medical treatment is an ongoing problem in her statement for World Health Day 2024.

As the country has weathered multiple crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ebola outbreak, the First Lady has praised the hard work and devotion of Nigeria’s healthcare professionals.

She made the statement, “As we celebrate World Health Day today, the subject “Health for All: Health Equity” hits home. That access to medical treatment is not a luxury but a basic human right is brought to light by this.

There has been a lot of success in Nigeria’s healthcare sector, but we still have a long way to go before we can close the gap in health equity.
