Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, who represents the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, has contributed N20 million to the eight Kaduna State clubs that will compete in the Nationwide League One (NLO), which is set to begin this month across the country.

Ekene, chairman of the House of Representatives committee on sports, made the announcement during a media briefing with members of the Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna State chapter, and other sports stakeholders at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.

He stated that the funds will be delivered to the Kaduna State Football Association (FA) and distributed among the eight teams, adding that he is committed to contributing his quota to sports growth and development in Kaduna State.

The shrewd sports executive turned politician, who qualified his team, Kada City, to the Premier League, urged the various teams to give it their all in the competition, noting that the donation is to aid them in logistics during the games.

“We would do all humanly possible to help the teams succeed in the next competition. As a result, I am providing N20 million naira in logistics support to the eight teams.

“I want positive things for sport in Kaduna State; we have eight teams playing in the NLO, and as the House Committee Chairman on Sports, I want the team to perform to the best of their skills.
