Efforts to Revitalize the African Football League and Do Away with the Confederation Cup

Reportedly, the Confederation Cup, which is the second-tier club competition of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), is going to be scrapped.

In 2004, the Confederation Cup was formed by merging the CAF Cup with the African Cup Winners’ Cup.

The African Football League was a new league that CAF created last year.

There will be additional teams in the African Football League, which began with eight.
As of right present, it’s the biggest club tournament in Europe.

Substituting the CAF Confederation Cup, the CAF Champions League will serve as the second-tier club competition in Africa.

Now that the African Football League champion has been chosen, they will represent Africa at the FIFA Club World Cup.
