 59-Year-Old Kano Assembly Member Passes Away

The 59-year-old Alhaji Halilu Ibrahim Kundila was a representative from the Shanono/Bagwai seat in the House of Assembly of Kano State.

In his hometown of Kundila, in the Shanono local government area of the State, the opposition leader Kundila was laid to rest on Sunday morning after passing away on Saturday night. He had been elected on the platform of the All Progressives Party (APC).

The deceased passed away at his home following a short illness, according to a family source. Four spouses and seventeen children remain to this day.

During this tragic time, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibrin Ismail Falgore, extended his deepest sympathies to the family of the late lawmaker, as well as to the entire Shanono/Bagwai State constituency and the members of the Assembly. Falgore said that Kundila’s passing occurred at a pivotal moment when his constituents and the people of Kano State were in dire need of his services.

“On this sad day, on behalf of my family and members of Kano State House of Assembly, I send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Hon. Halilu Kundila, member representing Shanono and Bagwai constituency. Our deep sympathies are with the family,” the Speaker’s spokesperson, Kamaludeen Sani Shawai, told LEADERSHIP on Sunday.

“May Allah grant his family strength to endure this loss, and may he rest in peace. Forgive him for all his transgressions.”
