After the Cameroon international was criticized last season, Lindegaard defended him and said this.
He boasted that the goalkeeper’s world-class feet were a major factor in Manchester United’s decision to sign him from Ajax and Inter Milan.
According to Man Utd’s website, Lindegaard spoke about Onana’s performance and how well she handled the pressure.
Many people were critical of him, in my opinion. In my opinion, he also received too much.
Unlike David De Gea, he wasn’t signed to Manchester United to merely produce spectacular saves and save the day.
Manchester United signed him because to his exceptional footwork. When it comes to distribution, passing the ball out, and setting up play, he is one of the top three goalkeepers in the world when using his feet.
Expecting him to be as dominant in the penalty area as Thibaut Courtois is unrealistic. He just won’t be able to match David De Gea’s number of spectacular saves.
