Four players removed from Liverpool’s first squad by Arne Slot

In preparation for the upcoming Premier League season, Liverpool manager Arne Slot has benched four players.

The UK Mirror reports that these individuals are Harvey Blair, Lewis Koumas, Tyler Morton, and Ben Doak.

All of them were on the Reds’ preseason US trip, although they didn’t play until the U-21s’ 5-2 friendly win against Ipswich.

While the transfer window is open until the end of the month, Morton and Doak are both eligible to go.

The 21-year-old Morton has been extensively linked with a permanent departure, with RB Leipzig and Atalanta being keen. He spent last season on loan at Hull City.

Doak, meanwhile, is rumoured to be on loan to Brentford, Southampton, or Leicester this summer.

After signing a £600,000 deal with Liverpool in 2022 from Celtic, Doak has struggled to make an impact due to injuries.
